As an aspiring first-generation college graduate, Ashley prided herself to lead by example through volunteerism. She developed a passion for making impactful changes in her community and was recognized for her commitment by former President Barack Obama with the President's Volunteer Service Award.

Since then, Ashley graduated magna cum laude and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Public Health, concentration in Rhetoric & Communication at the University at Albany (SUNY). Within that time, Ashley's professional experience included: Visiting Nurse Service of New York, New York State Department of Health, Albany Medical Center, and St. Peter's Hospital, performing administrative duties and direct patient care to promote health initiatives and preventive care to large, at-risk populations and communities. In her Clinical Researcher role at Albany Medical Center, she developed a curiosity to solve critical health issues from an operational scope, which led her to pursue a Master's in Business Administration

Three months after graduating from SUNY Albany, Ashley enrolled in the One-Year TURBO accelerated MBA program at Mercy College. In between this time, she worked in the Division of Cardiology and Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease at NYU Langone Health. Ashley also became a Graduate Assistant and Data Strategy Consultant in Mercy College's Strategic Consulting Institute. She worked with faculty and staff on consulting projects, including establishing a healthcare concentration MBA program and creating the first tertiary healthcare facility in Tanzania, East Africa. The following year, Ashley graduated with honors at the top of her business class.

In 2020, Ashley launched the #DataGirl social media campaign to increase the awareness of data careers. Her campaign motivated her to create data-inspired apparel and accessories and create the Data Girl Scholarship in partnership with the New York Urban League. Ashley's passion for supporting data enthusiasts led her to earn a Women's Entrepreneurship certificate with the Bank of America Institute at Cornell University. To date, Ashley has led instructor-based training from data analytics and career preparation to over 100 people across 10+ states and 3+ countries in backgrounds ranging from healthcare, education, and business.

Ashley continues to candidly share her experience navigating career opportunities in STEM, creating a personal brand, and promoting diversity in data careers. Her topics are tailored to high school students, college students, and working professionals in collaboration with nonprofits, academic institutions, and organizations such as Olay, IBM Developer, and Grow with Google, to name a few.
